Everything about our new house is old. Here are two small snapshots of details that really impressed me. The first; the foundation stone in the facade of the house. It says: laid by Martin Rijkers 11 years old, 18th of april 1929. And the other shot of the raggedy looking scrap of paper, is actually the original wallpaper of the house, at least what’s left of it. When taking down at least 5 layers of wallpaper or more, this is what we found. If you look at it real closely you can see purple birds and yellow flowers. Uncovering this paper felt like real archeology…
